Frequently Asked Questions

  • A - Being trauma integrated leads to services using the knowledge base about trauma and fusing these principles with their own purpose and vision. A trauma integrated service has an articulated approach to practice. It combines its own value base with its commitment to achieving change.  It requires an individualized, holistic approach to working with children that combines ideas and techniques from different schools of thought depending on the unique needs of each child.

  • A - All staff will be required to have the Comprehensive Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) training.

  • A - Yes. Due to on-going assessments and activities, we would require families to visit at specific times. We encourage family visits.

  • A – We require as much information from families as possible. Families would be involved in family assessments and therapy as needed. We would determine the need to have families involved with the child daily (dependent on age and relationship). Note: if the family relationships are detrimental to the child’s healing and well-being, we would not have the family involve.

  • A - Children will be involved with educational assessments and tutoring will be available. Most children who have experienced trauma have many difficulties with schoolwork. We will ensure that children have a positive experience in learning.
