Role Overview
Registered Psychiatric Nurses are key members of the interdisciplinary team within a charitable organization, providing psychiatric nursing assessment and support to young children and families throughout intake, assessment, stabilization, treatment, and follow-up services.
Key Qualifications
Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) in New Brunswick
Required: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal / Indigenous communities
Experience supporting children and families impacted by trauma
Understanding of trauma integration, attachment, and early childhood development
Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
Operations Manager
Reports To: Program Director
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall coordination of administrative services, facility operations, support services, purchasing, inventory management, volunteer coordination, and day-to-day operational functions of S.T.A.R.S. Children's Home. The Operations Manager ensures that the organization operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all applicable licensing, health, safety, and regulatory requirements while supporting the delivery of trauma-integrated services to children and families.
The Operations Manager works collaboratively with the Program Director and leadership team to ensure operational systems effectively support program delivery. This position is responsible for coordinating volunteers and operational service providers but does not provide direct supervision to employees.
LPN Team Lead –
Child Therapeutic Assistants
Employment Type: Full-Time | Shift-Based (days, evenings, nights, weekends as required)
Reports To: Child Therapeutic Coordinator / Program Director
Position Summary
The Team Lead – Child Therapeutic Assistants provides direct leadership, clinical coordination, and day-to-day oversight of Child Therapeutic Assistants working with infants and young children who have experienced trauma, maltreatment, prenatal substance exposure, and disrupted attachment.
This role functions as the front-line clinical leader, ensuring therapeutic care plans are implemented with fidelity, staff are supported in high-acuity environments, and children receive consistent, developmentally appropriate, trauma-integrative care. The Team Lead works closely with nursing, clinical, and leadership teams to maintain quality, safety, and continuity of care across all shifts.
Child Therapeutic Assistant
Reports To: Child Therapeutic Coordinator / Program Director
Employment Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, and Casual
Schedule: Shift work required (days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays)
Position Summary
The Child Therapeutic Assistant (CTA) works very closely and directly with infants, babies, and young children to support stabilization, safety, and emotional regulation while contributing actively to ongoing clinical assessment. This role requires advanced hands-on therapeutic skill, continuous observation, and the ability to interpret child behavior through a developmental and trauma-integrated lens.
The CTA plays a critical role in helping children stabilize sufficiently to participate in formal assessments and treatment planning. This is not an entry-level position and requires demonstrated competency in infant and early childhood therapeutic care.
